The Wilds of New Guinea
13 day trip ~ Includes 9-10 days kayaking ~ Grade: Easy to Moderate
“Island of Smiles” begins in Alotau and cruises through Dobu and Fergusson Islands, Trobiand and Tami Islands Sepik River, Sassi Islands and Tufi Fjords before finishing at Alotau. Primitive jungle, volcanoes, pristine coral reefs, exotic birds and one of the most culturally diverse areas on the planet.
Using our mother ship as a floating base camp, we hope to paddle twice a day, spending as much time on the water as possible. With over 800 languages and 1,000 distinct cultures, Papua New Guinea is the most culturally diverse country on earth. Our visits to remote coastal and island villages will give us a genuine insight into a traditional lifestyle that has changed little in centuries. This is remote tropical paddling at its best, matched with underwater views overflowing with marine life! Guest lecturer’s onboard help open our eyes to the “Wilds of New Guinea” so don’t miss out on these new and amazing adventures!
