For those seeking adventure, the island offers excellent opportunities for exploring rugged landscapes and wild beaches. The island’s diverse habitats, from sandy shores to limestone cliffs, provide a spectacular backdrop for our activities.

Shark Bay and Dirk Hartog Island provide sanctuary for a variety of wildlife, including numerous seabirds, marine turtles, dugongs, dolphins, rays and an incredible array of fish species.

Our floating base is the Silverado, a 24-metre catamaran, providing a comfortable setting for your adventures. The boat has five cabin bedrooms, three with ensuites, and two sharing a bathroom. Cabins include a twin share and others with double or queen beds. The Silverado also features a sun balcony, outdoor dining area, lounge room, seating at the bow, as well as a rear swim platform. A 10-metre support vessel accompanies paddlers when needed. Each night, the Silverado anchors in calm water areas within the islands.

Includes

Use of double and single expedition kayaks complete with paddles, life jackets and spray decks. Enjoy a six-night stay on the Silverado, guided by a professional kayak expert. All meals and snacks from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 7, with wine and beer served for a sundowner and dinner. Linen, bathroom towels, water and non-alcoholic drinks are provided. Snorkelling gear and stand-up paddleboards are available for use, along with bait and standard fishing gear to catch a tasty dinner!

Day 1

Arrival in Denham, transfer to Silverado. Meet your kayak guide, captain, crew and fellow kayakers.

Day 2

Today, we head out to explore the depths of Shark Bay’s hidden lagoons as we search for dugongs. The calm, clear waters are perfect for spotting these gentle creatures as they graze on seagrass meadows.

Day 3

An early departure takes us to Steep Point, the westernmost point of the Australian mainland. This dramatic coastline features rugged cliffs and stunning ocean views. We’ll paddle along the coastline, exploring hidden coves and watching for marine life such as dolphins and seabirds.

Day 4

Today we paddle and explore the sheltered eastern coast of Dirk Hartog Island. This historic island is not only the largest in Western Australia but also a significant site where Dutch explorer Dirk Hartog landed in 1616.

Day 5

This morning, we head to Francois Peron National Park to explore its hidden lagoons. The park is known for striking red cliffs, white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. We’ll paddle through these beautiful landscapes, searching for marine life and enjoying the serene environment.

Day 6

Today we explore the coast of Faure Island, searching for the famous dolphins of Monkey Mia. These friendly dolphins are known for their regular visits to the shallows, where they interact with humans. We’ll paddle along the coast, enjoying close encounters with these playful creatures.

Day 7

We visit Hamelin Pool, home to the world’s oldest living life forms, stromatolites. These fascinating microbial structures date back billions of years and provide a unique glimpse into the Earth’s early life. We’ll paddle and explore the coast, observing the stromatolites and the diverse marine life that thrives in this area.

In the afternoon, we return to the vessel and make our way to Monkey Mia, where the trip concludes. Disembark in Monkey Mia between 1-2pm. After farewelling the crew, it is possible to catch the evening flight back to Perth.
