Australia offers a huge variety of paddling opportunities along its extensive and pristine coastline. Southern Sea Ventures offer sea kayak trips on the tropical north-east coast of Queensland (Hinchinbrook), to the dry west coast of Western Australia (Abrolhos Islands, Shark Bay, Ningaloo Reef) and south to wild and rugged Tasmania (Freycinet, Tasman Peninsula’s and Bruny Island).
As Australia has a variety of climate zones we have a destination for every season. Choose to head north or west for the warm weather or stay down south for a more temperate holiday. At each destination you’ll discover amazing sea and landscapes, ancient indigenous culture and a sense of freedom in our vast wilderness, all while staying at remote campsites or secluded accommodation.
Sea Kayak Tasmania
Our local kayak guides will introduce you to sea kayaking on the wild coastlines and tranquil bays of Bruny Island and Tasman Peninsula. Be rewarded with untouched wilderness, uncrowded beaches, craggy coastlines and unique wildlife, in the sea, on land and in the skies above. Whichever one (or two) of our lodge or base camp, sea kayak escapes you choose, the experience is sure to refresh the senses. Bruny Island Paddle
Discover secluded coves, sea caves, lagoons, sea kelp forests and if lucky, encounters with fur seals, fairy penguins and soaring albatross, and enjoy evenings spent in our cozy lodge sampling delicious Bruny Island delicacies.

Freycinet Peninsula Kayak Expedition

Bruny Island Paddle – Instructional Kayak Adventure
Join SSV on a trip to beautiful Bruny Island and upskill your paddling techniques! This special departure presents the ideal opportunity for paddlers looking to enhance their kayak skills with expert tuition from our professional guides. Each day will include an instructional session on a set topic followed by short paddles to explore the best of Bruny.
The Three Capes Kayak, Hike And Whale Watch Escape
Witness the annual whale migration as Humpback and Southern Right travel up and down the coast between May and November in a renowned destination for whale sightings, world class sea kayaking and hiking.

Western Australia is a world class sea kayaking destination with remote coastlines, stunning beaches and incredible wildlife. With granite peaks rising 1142 metres directly out of the sea, Hinchinbrook Island is a magnificent backdrop for sea kayaking. Waterfalls, tropical rainforests, precipitous headlands, coral reefs and secluded beaches are among the island’s treasures.
